Mission 4, continued Beyond the statue, there are two paths. The right path leads to the tennis courts, and the left path will take you to the third viral bomb. Take the left path into a narrow brick passage. Upon exiting the passage, you'll see another terrorist guard. Shoot him and then take out the other two guards who appear in the area. Then, proceed through the open passage on the right. Follow the grey trail, and it will lead you right to the third viral bomb. Before you place the beacon, kill the guard on top of the nearby structure and sweep the area for any other terrorists. Once you've cleared the area of terrorist threats, go back and place the beacon on the bomb. Then, quickly climb onto the short stone wall. This is a good place from which to fend off the terrorist attackers, since you won't have to worry about hitting the CBDC agent. After killing about half a dozen terrorists, the bomb will have been diffused. Jump off the wall and proceed back to the statue. Follow the path to the right of the statue. It will lead you to the last viral bomb situated in front of a short brick wall. Place the beacon and jump onto the wall. Protect the incoming CBDC agent from the constant barrage of terrorists until the bomb is diffused. As always, the M-16 is best suited for fending off multiple terrorists. Keep shooting down bad guys until you get the All Clear communiqué from Lian. After all four viral bombs have been disarmed, follow the main walkway to a passage consisting of high brick walls. Along this passage, you will encounter a total of five enemies hiding on top of the walls waiting to shoot at you from above. Slowly sneak around each corner and aim with your M-16 to quickly knock them off one at a time. Once you get through, you'll see the tennis courts ahead. Free the hostages by shooting this terrorist with your night vision rifle. Walk around the right side of the courts, and you'll see a door. While standing just outside the door, equip your night vision rifle and look into the courts. To the left, you'll see a guard walking back and forth; to the right, you'll see a terrorist pointing a gun at a helpless hostage. First, shoot the guard on the left, then the terrorist in between the hostages. Make sure you hit the terrorist in the head with your first shot, otherwise he may shoot one of the hostages. Once the terrorist is eliminated, you'll have completed another objective. Exit the tennis courts at the back and follow the well-lit path. It will lead you to an abstract structure made out of large square blocks. On top of this structure is the communications array. As soon as this building comes into normal view, stop and equip yourself with your night vision rifle. Zoom in with the scope, and you should see two guards. Take them both out and proceed around the left side of the building. Two more guards will be around the back, so slowly approach from the side and try to take them out with your night vision rifle if you can. Once all four guards have been eliminated, go back around to the front of the structure. Climb up the left column, then jump over to the large center beam in the communications array. Walk over to the array and press the triangle button. Lian will contact you and direct you to take out Marcos. Head into the hedge maze and follow the main walkway. Use your shotgun to take out any terrorists you meet. After you've killed the second or third terrorist, you'll hear Marcos yell, and he'll start running away. Marcos will always run to the same place: a small enclosure just off the main walkway on the far left. Once he's boxed himself in the enclosure, simply strafe in, take a shot, and strafe back out. After four or five shots with your shotgun, it'll be lights out for Marcos. Follow the main walkway out of the maze, and you'll see the freedom memorial. This is where you must go to find Anton Girdeaux and the main viral bomb. The only problem is that the entrance is being guarded by four terrorists. Approach from the far left and take them out one by one with your night vision rifle. Sometimes, after you shoot one bad guy, the others will start running toward you. Even if this happens, they should remain fairly steady targets, so you can take them out long before they reach you. Once all four terrorists have been taken out, proceed into the freedom memorial. Mission 5: Freedom Memorial Objective 1. Kill Girdeaux Your only objective in this mission is to kill Anton Girdeaux. Both of you will be boxed in the arena-like freedom memorial for a battle to the death. Girdeaux is armed with a devastating flamethrower that spews long arcs of fire. Wherever the arc hits, fire will continue to burn in that spot for the duration of the fight. To make matters worse, Anton is decked out in full body armor that makes him impervious to nonexplosive weapons. However, if you use any explosive weapons, it'll set off the viral bomb in the center of the memorial. So, what can you do? Stand behind a pillar and use your aimer to shoot Girdeaux's backpack. Girdeaux's weak spot is the portion of the flamethrower he wears on his back. Since he moves around slowly, the typical way to defeat him would be to lure him to a pillar and quickly run behind him and open fire on his back. But there is an easier way. At the very beginning of the mission, arm yourself with the shotgun and quickly run behind the closest pillar to your left. Stand about two inches behind the pillar such that it is directly between you and Girdeaux. Now hold the L1 button to bring up your aimer, then hold R2 to peak out from behind the pillar. Start shooting at Anton's backpack, and he will see you and begin returning fire. However, since most of your body will be a couple of inches behind the pillar, his flames will not harm you. This may take a couple of tries to perfect your positioning, but once you get it right, you can defeat Girdeaux with ease. Four or five hits from your shotgun, and Anton will burst into flames. Mission 6: Expo Center Reception Objectives 1. Shadow Phagan to secret meeting 2. Find security card keys 3. Capture Phagan alive Phagan will begin slowly walking up a ramp toward the Stonehenge exhibit. Rather than following him up the ramp, go to the left and climb the wall. Hide behind the second pillar and point your aimer toward the ramp. Wait for a security guard to come walking by and take him out with a head shot. All security guards must be taken out quickly with head shots. Keep in mind that all security guards should be taken out with a single head shot until Phagan reaches his destination. Move a bit to the left of the pillar and take out the other guard at the top of the ramp. Walk over to the dead security guard and turn so that you're facing the left wall. Gradually strafe to the right, and a guard will start to walk out from the next corner. Shoot him and proceed into the Stonehenge exhibit. Peek through the stone pillars so that you can see the security guard at the far end. Watch Phagan on your radar map (he's the blue dot). Wait several seconds after he passes the guard in your view before sneaking around the left of Stonehenge and silently gunning him down. Continue down the next passage, and a guard will begin strolling along far in front of you. Kill him and take your first right. If you see Phagan walking down the passage ahead of you, wait until he is no longer visible. Then, walk up to the next corner and quickly back away. Prepare your aimer and shoot the next guard that walks toward you. Repeat this procedure at the next corner, and you'll have taken care of the entire first round of guards. Now all you must do is sneak into the next room and watch the cutscene. After you've discovered that Benton is the agency leak, you must fight him to the death. As the battle begins, you will be behind a wall at the back of the chamber, and Benton will be located somewhere in the main part of the chamber. Benton will be armed with a G-18 machine gun and wearing a flak jacket. Luckily, he will wait for you to make the first move. Therefore, you should try and take him out with a single head shot. Sneak out from behind the wall and try to catch shoot him in the head before he sees you. If he does spot you, he'll open fire on you with his G-18. Avoid his shots by strafing from side to side as you return fire. Keep pounding away at him until he's defeated. Pickup the flak jacket and G-18 machine gun left behind by Benton and walk over to the gate control panel. Activate the panel and shoot the guard on the other side of the gate. Kick open the door marked Museum Staff Only and kill the three guards inside. The first will be directly in front of you as you open the door, while the other two will fire at you from platforms above. Once the room is clear, climb onto the wooden box behind the blue statue. From there, jump up to the grate platform. Walk to the end and climb the boxes to get to the air vent. Shoot the lock off the door and proceed straight. Pick up the box of HK-5 bullets at the end of the path. Turn left, and you'll see another padlocked vent door. Shoot the lock off and exit the vent. Five security guards are lurking in the area just outside the vents. Use your sniper rifle to take out as many of them as you can one by one. When you're out of rifle ammo, haul out your HK-5 and slide down the ramp. Keep moving from side to side to avoid enemy fire as you focus on killing the remaining guards. Once the area is clear, pickup the security card dropped by one of the guards and climb up to the top of the ramp. Activate the gate control panel and quickly slide down the ramp. Run around to the right and roll through the open gate before it closes. Shoot this shorted circuit to gain access to the upper level. Proceed into the next room and shoot the guard there to get another card. Pickup the card and the nearby flak jacket before proceeding through the next gate. Shoot the guards in the next room and walk around to the elevator. Hit the elevator call switch and hop aboard the lift platform. While on the lift, aim your weapon at the shorted circuit above and fire. This will cause the lift to go up to the next level. Follow the path to the very end where you'll find the last security card as well as a combat shotgun. Collect these items and proceed back to the lift platform. Ride the lift down to the bottom and go into the next room. Shoot the guard to your immediate right and proceed to the row of lockers straight ahead. Check inside the lockers for a flak jacket and some ammo for your G-18. Go to the back of the room, and you'll see another door marked Museum Staff Only. Kick open this door and immediately take out the guards behind the window at the back. Walk across the Martian soil and lift yourself up through the shattered glass and onto the floor. Go to the right and activate the gate control panel. Walk through the open gate and proceed down the next passage to the moon exhibit. Shoot through the glass and kill the two men inside the moon exhibit. Once you're clear, climb on top of the moon lander. Jump up to the catwalk above and follow the path to the next mission. Mission 7: Expo Center Dinorama Objectives 1. Find security card key 2. Capture Aramov and Phagan alive As soon as the mission begins, run over to the nearby lockers and check them for a K3G4 and a flak jacket. By the time you collect these items, guard will have kicked open the door and started walking in. Equip your K3G4 and kill him. Carefully approach the door and take out the two other guards behind it. Exit the room and follow the hall to another door. Go through the door, and you'll be high above the main lobby. Walk over to the middle left of the circular walkway and jump up. Grab onto the center beam and move yourself toward the middle. Drop down through the glass, and you'll fall to the main lobby. There will be at least four security officers waiting for you in the main lobby. Take out the one in front of you first and run to the left. Climb up the side and kill the guard at the top to get the security card key. With the card key in hand, proceed to through the door labeled Dinosaurs. Walk around the dinosaur statue and kill the two guards who appear. Activate the gate control panel and run through the open gate. Go through the gate, and you'll be in a room with a fake fish tank in the center and another inside the back wall. Run to the right and take out the guard near the center tank. There is another guard behind the rear tank. Strafe in front of that tank with your guns blazing to kill the guard. After that, two more guards will appear behind the closed gate. Shoot them before proceeding through the rear fish tank. If any fake fish block your path, simply shoot them. Arm yourself with the sniper rifle and walk to the left. As you enter the next room, you will hear Mara interrogating Phagan. They are located behind a window in the upper right corner of the room. Get yourself into a position, so you have a good view of them both. Aim your sniper rifle onto Mara's weapon and fire. This will prevent her from killing Phagan. Alternatively, you can just get a bit closer to Mara and zap her with the taser. Shoot Mara's gun with your sniper rifle. Now, jump up on the dinosaur's huge tail and walk underneath the ceiling beam above the dino's back. Grab onto the beam and move to the right. If any guard start shooting at you while you're hanging, just stop and shoot them by aiming with the L1 button. Once you reach the end of the beam, drop down and walk over to Mara. Mission complete. Mission 8: Rhoemer's Base Objective 1. Plant C4 charges at four fuel tanks 2. Eliminate Gabrek and collect card key 3. Disable power to motion sensors 4. Reach missile bunker You begin at the base's perimeter wall. Two guards are on the other side of the truck. Don't worry about them. Take the gas grenades from the security booth, then shoot the guard on the walkway, and be sure to shoot the spotlight. Make you way along the perimeter wall over to the next area. Take care of the guard on the perimeter wall and the guard patrolling the ground without being spotted. Place a C4 explosive charge on the fuel tank and continue through the arch and dispose of the two guards patrolling. Turn right and shoot the guard. Continue, shooting the guards patrolling the grounds. When you reach the power plant, shoot the two guards. Place a C4 explosive charge on the fuel tank in the corner against the perimeter wall. To get through the fence, shoot the lock, and the doors will open. Shut off the power to the motion sensors. Make your way back to the first fuel tank. Go up the ramp and cross over the walkway to the next area of the base. Finish off the three guards without being seen and pick up the night vision rifle and the gas grenades. You've got to deactivate the motion detectors by shutting down the power plant. Head through the tunnel and shoot the two guards on the perimeter wall as well as the spotlight. Pick up the combat shotgun just beside the wheel of the truck. Go over to the fuel tank next to the perimeter wall and place a C4 explosive charge. Shoot the guard at the end of the alley. Go in front of the building beside you and shoot the guard through the window. Go through the tunnel, but stop at the end. Two guards are on the left behind some barrels. Use your gas grenades and take them out. Go around the corner on the right and place an explosive charge on the fuel tank. Go through the arch with the red light and hide in the doorway right before the corner. Gabrek and a couple of guards will eventually round that corner. Peek around the corner to figure out the timing, and take them all out with a gas grenade. Get Gabrek's card key, place an explosive charge on the fuel tank at the end of the street and head for the missile bunker. Continue in the same direction and use the card key on the fence. From here, take a left and then a right to the next fence switch. Run over to the tunnel entrance of the missile bunker to end the level. Mission 9: Base Bunker Objectives 1. Catalog ten enemy missiles 2. Reach communications building roof Get the flak jacket and shoot the two guards around the corner on the left. Take out the laser beam switch over on the right against the wall. Head to the right to the missile storage room, open the door, and shoot the guard inside. Catalog the two enemy missiles and leave the room. Shoot the laser beam switch on the wall and take that hallway. Be careful though, because two guards come from around the corner. Take the hall on the right and shoot the laser beam switch at the end of the hall. Two guards will attack, so be ready. Guards are around each corner, so dispose of them and shoot the laser switch on the wall. Another guard is around the next corner at the end of the hall. Push the switch and open up the missile storage room and activate the missile command computer. Catalog the enemy missiles. Shoot the switches on the walls to shut down the laser beams in the hallways. Return to the hallway and go the other way; shoot the guards and the laser switches. Go into the missile storage room and catalog the enemy missiles. Leave the storage room and continue down the hallway, but shoot the laser switch first. Run down into the computer room and crouch down. Two guards come down the hall; dispose of them and activate the computer. Open the artillery room. Three guards are waiting inside, one with grenades and two with weapons. Make sure you get all the ammo and weapons in the weapon boxes and your flak jacket. Leave the weapons room and go over to the elevator and ride it to the roof. Mission 10: Base Tower Objectives 1. Disable radar tracking dish 2. Shoot down attack helicopter You begin on the roof of the base tower. You will notice that there is a flak jacket and PK-102 ammo on each side of the tower. Run over to the dish and activate the radar tracking override. Now, it's time to battle the attack helicopter: man against machine. Remember to pick up the ammo and flak jacket when you need it. The helicopter will fly overhead and use its machine guns to try and kill you. Use the dish in the middle of the tower for cover; you can only damage the Use the dish as cover when fighting Rhoemer's helicopter. helicopter when its target bar is green. Once the helicopter starts smoking, it will start to drop off some guards. You're virtually home free from here as long as you can ward off the guards and still manage to get shots in on the helicopter. Shoot down the attack helicopter and complete your objectives. Mission 11: Base Escape Objective 1. Escape through main gate In this level, all you must do is escape from the base through the front gate. Sure, it sounds easy, but it's not. Run and shoot any guard that gets in your way; some are patrolling the grounds of the base, some are patrolling the perimeter walls of the base. Be careful and don't forget to pick up the ammo on the way. There's only one way to go, so don't worry about being lost. At the front gate, two guards are waiting. One has grenades, so watch out. Good luck and good shooting! Mission 12: Rhoemer's Stronghold Objectives 1. Eliminate Rhoemer's ten scientists 2. Administer antigen to six test subjects 3. Find security card keys 4. Find entrance to catacombs You begin high above the walls of the cathedral. The two walkways lead you down to the structure's inner walls. Down below are two unfriendly monks waiting for your arrival; one waits below the walkway, and the other is hidden behind the stained glass window of the cathedral. Head down the walkway and climb through the window where the monk was hiding and retrieve the sniper rifle ammo and dispose of the scientist by shooting him in the head. Retrieve the flak jacket. In the first room on your right, you will find your first test subjects. Administer the vaccine and continue through the cathedral. A monk is hiding behind some boxes in the hallway just around the corner from you. The door in the hall is locked, so you must find the card key that one of the scientists has on him. At the end of the hall, there is a darkened room. In there, you will find a flak jacket, but first kill the scientist and monk around the corner. Go to the lab at the end of the hall and administer the vaccine to the test subject. There's another lab on the left-hand side of the hall with a ton of boxes. Watch out for the monks, though. Once again, administer the vaccine to the test subject. The lab just down the hall has three scientists around a dead test subject. Be sure to dispose of the enemy on the left first because he has a gun. Once they're all taken care of, grab the card key and return to the locked door. Take it carefully, though, because there are lots of monks on the way back. Enter the door and climb the boxes; a monk will be shooting at you from a stain-glassed window. Once you get on the balcony, two more monks attack. One is on the balcony in front of you, and one is in front of the stained glass window. Take care of them and go through the stained glass window. Make sure to eliminate the scientist. Before going through the next stained glass window, head to the end of the balcony and retrieve the (K3G9). Now go back to the other window. You'll find a scientist and a monk; dispose of them and continue. The first room on the right has a test subject. Administer the vaccine and kill the two monks that enter after you. Down the hall and around the corner are two monks and a scientist armed with weapons. Eliminate them and pick up the card key. Use the card key on the door and enter, but make sure you are armed because a number of monks are waiting for you on the floor and on the balcony above. Disposing of the scientists is one of your objectives. Shoot them in the head to conserve ammo. Hop up on the balcony and run around to the other side and climb the bookshelf; go through the window. Two monks wait down below. Climb down, go to the test subject, and administer the vaccine. You've just completed one of your objectives. Head on through the door and into the hall where you'll find a scientist on the right and a monk on the left. Both are armed and dangerous, so be ready. Look down at the end of the hall where that monk was. You'll see a flak jacket behind some boxes. Down the other way in the hall are some boxes with a monk on the other side. This is actually pretty easy to take care of. Shoot the chandelier and take out the monk. Continue down the hall and over the next set of boxes where another monk is waiting. When you climb down, two monks come from behind. In the dark room on the right, you'll find a monk and some ammo on the top of the boxes. When you enter the next room, be ready because a few monks are ready for some action. Go through the door and kill the monk. Ride the elevator to end the level. Mission 13: Stronghold Lower Level Objectives 1. Eliminate Rhoemer's nine scientist 2. Administer antigen to four test subjects 3. Find security card keys 4. Find entrance to catacombs You are still in Rhoemer's stronghold, but are now in the lower areas. You follow the same objectives as before. Grab the flak jacket in the corner, if needed, and head down the hall. In the chamber just down the hall, turn left and up to the lab. There's a test subject there, so administer the antigen and continue on. When you enter the next chamber, there's a monk and a scientist on your balcony. There is a monk on the far balcony as well. Take them both out. Run down the stairs and to the left. Head straight into the lab and climb the boxes. Go through the open window to the lab on the other side. Climb the boxes over to the next lab, but be sure to kill the monks on the other side. Give the antigen to the test subjects and return to the chamber below the balconies. Go down the small hallway near the bottom of the stairs and eliminate the monks on the way. When you run into the next chamber, the monks are hiding up high. There's a test subject down the next hallway, so, you guessed it, administer the antigen and run out into the courtyard. There is a monk on the left climbing down some boxes and another on the other side of the court on the perimeter wall. In the area just on the right of the courtyard, two more monks are waiting up on the perimeter wall and on the balcony. Climb up the boxes to the balcony and dispose of the monks behind you on the perimeter wall. Just around the corner in the hall, a monk is hanging around. In the next room, two monks come at you, and another monk is waiting across from you on the balcony. You must make it over to that other balcony, so use the beam and walk across. Mission 13, continued Once you're on the other side, kill the scientist and pick up the flak jacket. Now, return to the outside balcony and climb over the railing on your right, go through the stained glass window, and kill the scientist. Now that you have the card key in your hands, unlock the door. Once you're through the door, take care of the two monks on the right. From the door, go left down the hall; eliminate the scientist and retrieve the ammo. On the way back, a few monks are waiting for you. In the next chamber at the end of the hall, a monk is hiding behind the stained glass window across from you. Go to the end of the balcony and unlock the door. Kill the monks and scientist, but watch your back because some come up from behind; remember that double-tapping down is a fast, easy way to turn around. Run over to the far corner and continue down the hall, taking care of the monks on the way. Walk across the beam and pick up the flak jacket. Jump through the big stained glass window. Administer antigen to the test subjects to save their lives. You're now outside, and two monks are on either side of you along the perimeter walls. Drop down to ground level and pick up the ammo box. Go down the hallway being careful around each corner for any monks who might be waiting. Over in the next area, there are two monks, one up high on the perimeter wall and the other over in the corner. Enter the cemetery and watch out for the monks. Continue down the green hallway and take care of the scientist and the monk around the corner. Around the next corner, there are two monks; be sure to kill the one on the left first because he throws grenades. In the next chamber, there's a monk behind the door and two on the balcony right above you. Head to the chamber with all the pillars and kill the monks. Pick up the ammo and flak jacket. Go down the hall, but don't run into the next room because five monks are waiting together for you. Four are on the ground, and one is up on the balcony. Kill them from the hall, so they can't all see you at once. Open the door and finish the level. Mission 14: Stronghold Catacombs Objectives 1. Find Phagan 2. Find Lian Xing Now you're in the underground tunnels on Rhoemer's stronghold, and you must find Phagan. Down here, you can't be spotted, or you'll fail the mission, so stay hidden and use your silencer. When you're eliminating an enemy, be sure to shoot them in the head, since most of them are wearing flak jackets. Once again, let me remind you that if you're spotted, the mission is over. Follow the scientist through the underground tunnels to where Phagan is being held. Hide in the meshes along the tunnel, so you can stay out of sight. Follow him down the stairs and take care of the guard. Continue following the scientist. Use your gas grenades on the next wave of guards, so as to minimize your chances of being seen. Once you have found Phagan, the mission isn't over. You now must find Lian Xing. Protect Phagan at all costs, and he will show you were Lian is being held. Follow the scientist to where Phagan is being held without being seen by the guards. Don't bother with the silencer any more; it's time for some heavy weaponry. The chase through the tunnels won't be easy. There are lots of monks with shotguns, so you must be sharp and quick. Once you have found Lian Xing, you must protect her, so she can show you the way out of the catacombs. Again, it's not an easy trip through the tunnels, and this time, there are quite a few enemies to take care of. You will have a little help - Lian has a weapon, and she knows how to use it. Be sure to pick up weapons along the way, or you might find yourself without any at all. Bullets are used up pretty quickly when you're scared.
