PSX
Games of the Month: October 2000
By: Chris Lee
Well this is it folks. The final Game of the Month list for
the PSX before the launch of the Playstation 2. Makes me
wonder if anyone is even looking at this list hehe. Oh and
keep checking back for Joe Rolfe’s best and worst of the PS2
launch list coming soon. Anyways, there are some really solid
titles coming out this month and it wasn’t easy to pick a
game of the month. Even though I couldn’t nail down any
information on the game, thanks to EA being skimpy on details
and their site being down, here’s this months......
(note: Be sure to check the bottom of the list)
GAME OF THE MONTH!!
MEDAL OF HONOR UNDERGROUND by Electronic
Arts
October 24, 2000
www.eagames.com
Outlook; I just went with an almost sure thing here. People
seemed to really enjoy the first MOH and it’s been called a
classic. Pretty simple to give the sequel the GotM award. If
first person shooters are your thing and you want to kill of a
few Nazi scum then you can’t go wrong here. Steven Spielberg
should take this and make a movie out of it. Do your part for
your country and buy Medal of Honor Underground!
MTV Sports: T.J. Lavin's Ultimate BMX by THQ
October 1, 2000
www.THQ.com

*Incredible soundtrack featuring a soundtrack by some of
today’s hottest bands! (TBD)
*10 selectable pro-riders, each with their signature moves and
current sponsors (TBD)

Indian airs, 720’s, Seat Grabs, Can-cans, grinds, flips,
bar-spins, tabletops, truckdrivers, no-handers, and more!
*Three separate types of riders and environments: Dirt, Street
and Vert
*Selectable/Upgradeable equipment and apparel
*Hidden Characters, Bikes and Environments
*Special Playfield Evolution Feature: Unlock terrain as you
progress!
*Special "Power Meter" regulates trick ability—light
it up and perform completely over-the-top aerials!
*Real FMV of pro-riders!
Outlook: I’ll say one thing, the extreme sports genre has
gotten much better over the last couple years. Games like Tony
Hawks Pro Skater have shown the games industry that extreme
sports titles can expose people to the sport and be great
games at the same time. If more titles can strive for that
then we’ll be in good shape. If T.J. Lavin’s Ultimate BMX
can continue the tradition it’ll be a great one.
ARMY MEN SARGE'S HEROES 2 by 3DO
October 1, 2000
www.3do.com
Features:
*For PlayStation game console, you get unique weapons,
power-ups, enemies, levels, and nearly 20 minutes of
full-motion video storyline -- like a Sarge TV show without
the commercials
Outlook: They’re back......yet again. I haven’t played
one of these Army Men games in quite a while but I guess they
must be getting better or 3DO is become a franchise nut. The
game is sure to be fun so Army Men fans strap in, it’s time
for the little green men to kick butt and take names once
again.
