DVD Movies
One of Sony’s greatest marketing points for the PS2 is
the DVD compatibility itself. So when you head home on Oct. 26th
with that PS2 and feel like catching the latest flicks, what
movies should you grab that will really assure you of why DVD
is better than VHS tapes? Read on to find out!

#1) The Matrix ( Keanu
Reeves, Laurence Fishburne)
What else is there to say about this movie? Basically this
sci-fi thriller of early 1999 set a new precedent for movies
and science fiction films alike. Even if you’ve seen it
already (not to mention the other two people in the world that
haven’t), watching this flick on DVD is a completely new
experience compared to dusty old videocassette.

#2) Terminator 2: Judgement Day ( Arnold
Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton)
Like the Matrix, T2 was revolutionary for it’s respective
genre in terms that it’s visual/audio presentation had never
been done as well – or as exciting – as before. Being it
one of the only few good movies that Ahhhh-nold is in, T2
should not be missed out by any fan of action/sci-fi movies.

#3) Jurassic Park ( Sam
Neill, Laura Dern)
Up until Steven Spielberg’s masterpiece was released,
most dino movies were incredibly lame. They involved bad
narrating and horrible depictions of dinosaurs, resembling
early Godzilla movies more so than a realistic portrayal at
our prehistoric friend. In 1993, however, Jurassic Park
changed all this. With it’s exciting new look at dinosaurs
and an incredible atmosphere to boot, J’Park on DVD is a
breathtaking experience to be had on your PS2.

#4) Blade ( Wesley
Snipes, Stephen Dorff)
The one movie where the audience is actually cheering for
the vampire, Blade is a delightful movie that should appeal to
fans of The Matrix. Full of heavy violence and naughty
language, Blade was yet another hit action beat-em-up film
from Mr. Snipes. With a lot of great extras to boot on the
disc, Blade DVD has got to be seen.

#5) The Mummy ( Brendan
Fraser, Rachel Weisz)
Even with a sequel due out next summer, The Mummy is still
revered as one of the better science fiction titles of the
late 90’s. Having nice special effects and a great musical
score, The Mummy would be a fine addition to any movie buff’s
library.
