Metal Gear Solid 2 Delayed

Unfortunately, Konami Europe have confirmed what we long feared: Metal Gear Solid 2 has been delayed until sometime in 2002.  No reason was given for the delay. Reportedly Konami now wants to launch the game worldwide on the same day, although that isn't the official reason for the delay.

Of late the PS2 has seen almost N64ish delays, with a number of games being pushed back due to development problems or a lack of available PS2 consoles.  This delay closely follows a couple of other major PS2 delays, including Final Fantasy X, Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec and Red Faction.
