entertainment content, today announced that Lethal Skies II
will release exclusively for Sony PlayStation®2 on September 9,
2003. The title is the new sequel in the popular arcade-style jet
combat series developed by Asmik Ace. The series, known as
Sidewinder in Japan, was introduced on the PS2 in North America last
year with Lethal Skies. Lethal Skies II delivers brilliant

new planes, 2-player dogfight mode, reversible missions and an
updated premise heavily influenced by popular space flight shooters
and science fiction films.
“Lethal Skies II brings to the PS2 a high-intensity, action-oriented
and somewhat unique jet combat title, giving players the chance to
fly beautifully modeled planes that look ultra-realistic in a game
that has the play and feel of a top-notch, 3D space shooter,” said
Tim Pivnicny, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Sammy
Studios, Inc.
Lethal Skies II is set on a future Earth devastated by
environmental disaster, and now coping with wars among remaining
nations vying for control of the planet. Players join the elite
fighter squadron Team SW, heroes of the first war called upon to
defend against a new enemy intent on controlling the planet. The
sequel adds an amazing seven new fighter jets, giving players access
to 19 modern-day and experimental “black ops” aircraft. Lethal
Skies II has an amazing 20 new missions, along with five bonus
unlockable missions where players can reverse roles and play as the
enemy. The game pits players against the greatest array of enemy
war machines ever amassed, fighting nearly every known conventional
air, land and sea combat craft along with futuristic vehicles such
as VTOLs, hover-tanks, battle mechs, giant helicopters, mobile
fortresses, and attack satellites. Additional new features to the
sequel include split-screen and i.link 2-player mode, interactive 3D
battle maps, movie galleries, five different 1st and 3rd person POVs,
customizable background music and an all-new dynamic fleet command
capability where players can change aircraft and ordinance and issue
new directives to their wingmen mid-mission.
