Despite a
string of terrible games based on the license, EA continues to
churn out games based on The Simpsons. Maybe it has
something to do with that whole "Cha-Ching!"
thing. It was inevitable that we'd see another one, and
it's finally arrived in the form of The Simpsons
Skateboarding...so far announced exclusively for the PS2.

Springfield
has been converted into a giant skate park (we don't know why
yet), and a grand prize of $99 has been offered for winning
the tour prize. As you can imagine a slew of characters
are getting in on that action, each bringing more than 40
moves and tricks to the competition. Confirmed
characters thus far include the entire Simpsons family, Otto,
Professor Fink, Nelson, and Krusty the Klown. Confirmed
locations include Springfield Elementary, Krusty-Lu Studios,
Downtown, Springfield Gorge, Itchy & Scratchy land, Sir
Putt-A-Lot's, the Power Plant, and finally the Kwik-E-Mart.

Also
included will be five modes of play: Freeskate, Skate Fest,
Trick Contest, Skillz School, and H-O-R-S-E. Additional
boards, characters, and levels can be unlocked and there will
be head-to-head modes included as well.
Will this
be the Simpsons game that finally does the TV series
justice? We sure hope so.
